Unscrambling of SSL/LED Lighting Product US ENERGY STAR Requirements & UL Standards

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced the publication of the final Energy Star criteria for Integrated LED Lamps on December 3, 2009, and it will go into effect on August 31, 2010. Manufacturers are encouraged to become partners and submit their products’ test reports for review and approval in advance of the effective date.

ANSI/UL 8750 “Safety Standard for Light Emitting Diode (LED) Equipment for Use in Lighting Products.” had been published after nearly three years in development. It provides manufacturers a single, much-needed safety standard for testing their LED products and related components sold in the United States.Well then, what should you do to get your LED lighting products to meet all the latest US requirements, such as ENERGY STAR, UL 8750, UL 1598, UL 1993, IESNA LM 79, IESNA LM 80, FCC and so on.
